I was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. I spent my undergraduate years at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I majored in chemistry and fell in love with molecular diabetes research. After college, I traveled on a grant to the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm for a year to study corneal islet cell transplantation. After medical school at Stanford University, I spent 2 years as a pediatric resident in St. Louis before deciding to change paths to pathology. I am excited to be back home in Chicago! My hobbies generally include anything craft-related, writing, baking, or playing/listening to classical music (especially the CSO and Grant Park orchestras!).
