I grew up in the Chicago area and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I majored in molecular and cellular biology. While there I worked in a laboratory studying facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy. During this time, I first became interested the field of pathology. After college, I went to the University of Illinois at Chicago for medical school, and there I continued bench research exploring the role of actin in the nucleus. I also enjoyed my position as a teaching assistant for the medical school histology course. Outside of pathology, teaching and research, I love camping, running, and pottery. I am thrilled to be starting my residency at the University of Chicago!
