UChicago 2024 USCAP Representation

Our department was extremely well represented at the annual USCAP meeting, which is the largest and most prestigious meeting for academic anatomic pathologists worldwide. A total of 18 faculty and 17 residents and fellows presented at the meeting. Two faculty members also presented at affiliated pathology society meetings, and one presented at an evening specialty conference. Seven faculty members presented a total of seven well attended short courses.  In addition, a faculty member was the Director of the Annual Long Course.

Our residents and faculty contributed to original research projects presented as 14 platform presentations and 43 posters. Thirteen of the posters were accepted as part of the Stowell Oribson competition for best research project by a resident. One of our residents was recognized by the Chinese American Pathology Society for her outstanding contributions at the meeting, and a recently graduated resident won the Arthur Purdy Stout Award for the best published pathology paper by a resident in the past year. In addition, our faculty members include the Past-President of USCAP, and a member of the USCAP Foundation Committee.
