The Department of Pathology at the University of Chicago is extremely pleased to announce the recognition being accorded to Dr. Vinay Kumar, Professor and Past Chair of Pathology. He has a distinguished career in pathology research, teaching and administration. Over the last 40+ years, he has been involved with writing for the “Robbins books”, the internationals standard for Pathology training in medical schools. He was first a co-author, then co-editor and finally senior editor. The next editions of Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease and Robbins Basic Pathology will now be entitled Robbins, Cotran and Kumar Pathologic Basis of Disease and Robbins and Kumar Basic Pathology. This change honors his many contributions to world-wide education in pathology.
