Thoracic Pathology Fellowship

This one-year fellowship includes the thoracic service, which covers lung cancer, mesothelioma, thymoma, interstitial, pediatric and infectious diseases, and pre- and post-lung and heart transplant pathology. The fellow provides initial assessment of urgent biopsies and presents at interdisciplinary oncology and transplant conferences. We receive > 38,000 surgical pathology cases annually. The diagnostic material is comprehensive and also includes consultation cases. The fellow also teaches residents and medical students and will be responsible for translational research projects.

A minimum of three years' training in anatomic pathology or four years' training that combines anatomic and clinical pathology. The candidate must be able to obtain an Illinois medical license.

Commensurate with level of training.
